Protect & restore

What It’s All About?

Footprints for Our Future is a week-long environmental initiative that brings together Rotary clubs, schools, and community groups from across the Bay of Plenty. Our shared goal? To protect and restore our local waterways and coastlines, while inspiring action for a healthier future.

From large-scale clean-up days to inspiring public talks, this event is designed to activate all corners of the community — from tamariki to business leaders — and create real, tangible impact.

Local action for lasting change

Why It Matters

Our awa and moana are under increasing pressure — but local action can lead to lasting change. By working together at a grassroots level, we can support environmental sustainability, strengthen community connection, and revitalise the whenua for future generations.

This kaupapa aligns with Rotary’s global commitment to supporting the environment and building connected, resilient communities.
